CSO Outreach Workshop in Zagreb, Croatia

​Inspection Panel Senior Operations Officer Mishka Zaman participated in a CSO Outreach Workshop in Zagreb, Croatia on July 2 – 3, 2015. The workshop titled “IFI Accountability in South-Eastern Europe” was organized by the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) Complaints Mechanism. Representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from various South and Eastern Europe countries participated, as did staff from the accountability mechanism of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The purpose of the workshop was threefold: i) allow the three compliance mechanisms to become better acquainted with local CSOs and explain their role and work; ii) provide CSO representatives with an opportunity to share concerns regarding ongoing investigations; and iii) discuss ways to strengthen accountability policies and practices in the region. The Panel appreciated the opportunity to interact with regional CSOs and learn about their concerns related to accountability and compliance.
