Dilek Barlas, Inspection Panel Executive Secretary

​I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dilek Barlas as the Executive Secretary of the Inspection Panel.

Ms. Barlas, a Turkish national, joined the Bank in 1992 as Counsel in the Legal VPU. She has since held various positions in the Legal VPU and the Inspection Panel, her recent assignment being Deputy Executive Secretary at the Inspection Panel.

In her new position, Ms. Barlas' priorities will be to (i) provide support and advice to the Panel Chairperson and Panel members; (ii) manage the Panel’s Secretariat, its staff, consultants and resources; and (iii) maintain Panel's relations with internal stakeholders (the Board of Executive Directors, its Committees, Senior Management and staff) as well as external ones (requesters, CSOs, academia and the media).

Ms. Barlas was selected to this position through a Bank-wide competitive managerial selection process. Her appointment is effective July 1, 2014.
