On Feb. 11, a team fromCenter for International Environmental Law (CIEL)andInternational Accountability Project visited the Inspection Panel. The team met the Panel team and briefed on theEarly Warning System (EWS).The EWS is a joint project of CIEL andInternational Accountability Project. It aims to alert communities in advance, about potential harm that may be caused by projects being funded by multilateral development banks, including World Bank. The EWS team identifies the projects, conducts a basic analysis of their potential impacts, and shares the information through strategic outreach with partners. Project information can be viewed online or received in an email alert. EWS aims to provide information to communities and local Civil Society Organizations about those projects early in the project cycle, preferably before approval. See more pictures in ourFacebook page.
