​Panel to Take Part in Civil Society Policy Forum Sessions on Human Rights, IAMs, GBV

The Inspection Panel will take part in three events at the Civil Society Policy Forum being held in connection with the World Bank Group-International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings. On Wednesday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Panel Executive Secretary Dilek Barlas will participate in a session sponsored by the Center on International Environmental Law on a new report by the New York University Law School Clinic on International Organizations titled, “The World Bank Inspection Panel and International Human Rights Law.” On Friday, October 13, from 9-10:30 a.m., Panel Member Jan Mattsson will participate in a session sponsored by the Centre for Research on Multilateral Corporations titled, “The Value of Accountability Mechanisms: By Whom and For What?” Later that day, from 4-5:30 p.m., Panel Member Zeinab Bashir Elbakri will be part of a discussion sponsored by the Joy for Children, Bank Information Center and Bretton Woods Project titled, “Moving from Lessons Learned to Lessons Applied on Gender-Based Violence.” All sessions will be held at World Bank’s I Building, located at 1850 I Street NW.
