World Bank Management Reports on Lessons from Lagos Project

World Bank management has completed a study on lessons from the Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project (LMDGP), which prompted a complaint in September 2013 to the Inspection Panel. In response, the Panel utilized its Pilot approach, and management committed to undertake the study as part of that process. The study is not meant as an evaluation of the LMDGP itself. Rather, it “intends to draw concrete lessons from the project as a basis to provide solid recommendations for future engagement in mega cities like Lagos over issues such as slum upgrading, involuntary resettlement, land and housing.”
