Panel Chairman Participates in CSO Workshop at IAIA Meeting in South Africa

Panel Chairman Gonzalo Castro de la Mata on May 15 joined with representatives of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman and the independent accountability mechanisms (IAMs) of the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank at a discussion with civil society representatives co-organized by the Legal Resources Centre prior to the start of the International Association for Impact Assessment’s annual meeting in Durban, South Africa. The session provided an overview of the work of the mechanisms, and the IAM representatives answered questions about the main types of complaints they handle, the tools they have to respond to complaints, and the roles of different stakeholders in the complaints-handling process.
