Panel Welcomes Truman Scholar Summer Interns

​The Inspection Panel this week welcomed two Truman Scholar summer interns, Kathleen Wilsonof the University of Georgia and Jay Ruckelshausof Duke University.

Kathleen graduated with B.A. degrees in economics and international affairs and a minor in Arabic. She was executive director of the Women’s Outreach and Resource Collective in Athens, Georgia, from January 2014-May 2015 and has previously interned at the U.S. Department of State and Feminist Majority Foundation. Kathleen was a 2015 national finalist for both the Rhodes Scholarship and the Marshall Scholarship.

Jay graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in political science and was the winner of the Faculty Scholars Award, the highest academic honor given to a Duke undergraduate. He is founder and president/CEO of Ramp Less Traveled, Inc., a nonprofit that supports students with spinal cord injuries in pursuit of higher education. A Rhodes Scholar, Jay was a research fellow with the American Bar Foundation and previously interned in the office of Indiana Governor Mike Pence.
