Panel to Release Fourth Emerging Lessons Series Report on Oct. 10; Will Host Open House on Oct. 12

The Inspection Panel will release the fourth report in its Emerging Lessons Series at an event at the World Bank Group-International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings.“Emerging Lessons on Consultation, Participation and Disclosure of Information” will be released as part of a panel discussion on October 10 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the World Bank’s Preston Auditorium. Chairman Gonzalo Castro de la Mata will moderate a discussion on the topic with panelists including World Bank Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva and Abby Maxman, president and CEO of Oxfam America. The event will be livestreamed on the Panel’s website. The Emerging Lessons Series identifies lessons from the Inspection Panel’s 23-year caseload and is intended to help build the Bank’s institutional knowledge base and contribute to more effective development. Previous reports in the series have detailed lessons from cases involving involuntary resettlement, indigenous peoples and environmental assessment. The Panel also will host an Open Houseat its offices in the Bank’s main building, room MC 10-507, on October 12, from 5-7 p.m. Colleagues and friends of the Panel are invited to attend.
