​Panel Welcomes Summer Intern

MirandaMiranda is a recent graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in History and was the recipient of the History Department’s Stone/Davis Thesis Research Prize. She is interning at the Panel as a member of the 2017 class of Truman Scholars, and will be spending the next year in the United Kingdom as a Fulbright Scholar. In the summer of 2017, Miranda served as one of the only undergraduate research interns at the Library of Congress’s Congressional Research Service in the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Division. While there, she researched sexual violence in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the targeting of civilians and medical professionals in modern conflicts.

 

LauraLaura is currently a Master’s student in Global Affairs at Yale University, and expects to finish her program in May 2019. She has a Master’s Degree in Literature and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Universidad de los Andes. From January 2014 to June 2017, she was a human rights analyst with a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum in Bogota. In that role, she prepared human rights risk and impact assessments required for internal planning and management of crisis situations related to social unrest, security incidents, land management and employment. She also designed and implemented a strategy to enforce the United Nations Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights.
